How do I order a cake or favour?

The best way to order a cake or favour is via email, please send us your enquiry via the contact page detailing everything from event date, guest number, and or any designs you have in mind. We will then be able to respond to you with a more accurate quote.

Please be aware that our quotes are only valid for a period of 72 hours, after this time other orders may have been confirmed and the quote may need to be reviewed.

You can also contact us via telephone. Please note that here at Boo's Baking Company we are busy baking and creating sweet delights and we apologise if we do not respond straight away, however we will endeavour to respond to all enquiries within 48 hours.

Do I get a consultation?
Louise offers an option of having a design consultation in person. This will normally last just over an hour, during this time you will discuss the design, event, theme, venue and any other facotrs that determine the outcome of your finalised cake or favour.
It is recommended that you bring your own inspiration ideas and designs to help guide Louise to create your dream cake with you.
Inspirational sources could include:
Photos of your dress or suit
Photos of bridesmaids or ushers/bestmen outfits
Colour samples
Wedding or Event Invitations
Magazine photos
Jewellery
Pictures of flowers
 
Aswell as the above inspirational ideas the following factors need to be discussed to assit with the design:
Number of guests
Serving of the cake or favour (To be served on the day; the day after; evening buffet; or as favours; or takeaway)
Cake Toppers (People Figurines, Fresh Flowers, Sugar Flowers, Object Models, Keepsakes)
Budget
 
Consultations are included in cakes costing from £150.00 and for favour orders of more than 100 untis. Consultations for cakes costing below £150.00 will cost £30.00 and £15.00 for favour orders under 100 units.
If you do not require a consultation all correspondance reguarding cake/favour design will be via email.

Do I get to taste my cake?

During your consultation you will be able to try a complimentary selection of cake or favour samples. If you already have your ideal flavour in mind please inform us in advance, otherwise we will provide a few possibilities for you to try on the day.

 

Complimentary Selection includes up to three varieties.

Can't decide on one flavour?

No need to worry if you can not decide on one flavour for your cake, why not treat your guests to two or three different flavours. Please inform Louise during consultation.

 

If you are ordering favours we can create up to two varieties for the same event.

 

 

Booking your cake

At the end of your consultation we will run through the finalised cake design and total costings. Any other details that need finalising we will email them to you at the earliest opportunity. An intial deposit of 25% is required to book the celebration cake or favour with the remaining balance due no later than one month prior to your event. Deposits are non refundable.

Is there a minimum order?
Minimum order on all of our wedding cakes is £150.00 regardless of size
Minimum order on all or our other celebration cakes is £40.00
Minimum order on all favours in 30 units
 
Please take in consideration that the process of making a detailed wedding or celebration cake can take up to 30 hours from start to completion.

Can I "Save the Date"?

If you would like Boo's Baking Company to design your celebration cake but are not ready for a consultation, please contact us as soon as possible to reserve your wedding/event date. We can always book in a consultation nearer the time without the risk of losing your date. 

To "Save the Date" a £20.00 deposit is required.

What are your opening hours?
Louise works from home in a fully inspected and rated kitchen.
Business hours are: Monday - Friday 9.30am - 6.30pm; Saturday 10.00am - 1.00pm; Sundays and Bank Holidays CLOSED.
Visits are by appointment only

Can I collect my cake?
Collection of your cake or favours will be from 37 Cannon Road, Bexleyheath, Kent, DA7 4QB.
Your cake or favours will be boxed and ready for transportation. All of our stacked cakes will have supports to ensure they can be transported to their destination safely.
Please note that once you have collected, the full responsibility for the safety of the cake/favour is with the client and Boo's Baking Comapny is not liable for any damages thereafter.
We can usually offer a delivery service depending on availability this is charged at approx 40p per mile.
Delivery of your cake/favour will be made by Louise or a member of her team only.

How will my cake be delivered?
If delivery and set up is required, Louise will contact the venue to arrange and discuss delivery times and venue access. All cakes / favours will be delivered on the morning of the event, occasionally the evening before if appropriate.
 
In the case of an unprecedented event, such as a car accident or poor road conditions during delivery, Boo's Baking Company cannot be held liable for more than the price of the cake described in the order.
If your event is outdoors, Boo's Baking Company will not be held responsible for conditions of the cake following set up. Due to effects of outdoor weather conditions e.g. heatwaves or sudden rain; unsteady tables on uneven ground; wind blowing contaminating objects onto the cake e.g sand, dirt or insects the cake and cake decorations may not maintain the correct standards and cannot be insured past delivery and set up.
At Boo's Baking Company we promise to deliver high quality products and service, we cannot be held liable for anything that could happen to the cake once delivery is complete.

Can I cancel my cake/favour order?
Should you need to cancel your cake/favour order more than two weeks before completion, your holding/confirmation deposit in non refundable.
For orders cancelled within two weeks of the completion date, the full balance is required.

How can I store my cake?

Once you have your cake, please keep it in it's box until required and place on a flat service.
Cakes should be kept in a cool room, away from direct sunlight and moisture until needed.
DO NOT PUT IN THE FRIDGE - This will cause moisture to attach to the icing and could ruin the decoration.
Your cake will remain at it's best for up to 4 days after your event. Any left over cake must be stored in an airtight container.
 
Storage for any favours will depend on the favour itself and instructions will be on the packaging.

How do I pay for my order?
A deposit of 25% will be taken on confirmation of all orders, with the remainder paid 2 weeks prior to the collection or delivery. For orders taken within 2 weeks of required date, payment will be required in full on confirmation of the order. We book our cakes on a first paid, first booked system, if any payments are not recieved your cake will not be made. 
Preferred payment method is by online bank transfer (BACS) or by Cheque, this must be paid in advance and your cheque must have cleared before collection.
Cash will be accepted on collection or delivery. We do not have the facility to offer change.

Do you have allergy information availiable?

Allergens for all our prodcuts are availiable upon request before booking and will be with the product upon delivery/collection.

All prices are based on vanilla sponge, vanilla buttercream and strawberry jam with fondant icing.
